This document is intended to outline some information for you about my practice and approach. Please feel free to ask any questions you have at any time: mail@wildbody.ca
EXCHANGE OF CARE //
Our work relationship is an exchange of care: I offer you my professional* skills and time and you offer me payment at an hourly or contractual rate that we agree on at the beginning of our work together.
The reliability of this container is necessary for my wellbeing (my income and time), for your wellbeing (support in your learning and professional growth, knowing you have a space that is yours), and collective wellbeing (when space goes un-used, it means someone who could be accessing care is not). This exchange of care is an important part of how I approach my work and I ask you to consider this as we begin our work together.
*I use the term "professional" in this context to indicate that the focus is on your work in the world, rather than on personal healing (as much as these things can be separated). Words are imperfect and I recognize the colonial/ capitalist values associated with professionalism. "Trade" feels like a much more aligned word for me, but not everyone has that shared understanding. So this is my best attempt to be clear with scope and intention, while also disrupting how whiteness is replicated inside of healing work.
CONSULTATION //
I provide business and clinical consultation to body-based practitioners (including coaches, students, bodyworkers & somatic therapists). These sessions are not personal therapy and they are not a substitution for individuals who are required to practice under supervision.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE //
The services you’re hiring me for are embodied mentorship and business consulting. Although you are encouraged to bring your whole self to our work, our focus is on your professional practice, meaning we won't go deep into unpacking unresolved trauma. I invite embodied exploration and practice in our sessions, which may include exploring spiritual and ancestral work. We will always engage with these practices with your full consent, choice, and autonomy. I do not claim to know or hold any answers or information you don't already carry within yourself, I am here to accompany you as a peer and fellow human.
You're encouraged to bring pieces of our work to your personal therapy and other places where you receive support and care.
TRAINING + QUALIFICATIONS //
I have a Masters of Education in Counselling from Acadia University, as well as a Masters of Environmental Studies from York University. I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC), a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist (RSMT).
For more details on my background please visit my website: wildbody.ca
APPROACHES //
I have participated in 500 + hours of training and supervision in: generative somatics, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Transpersonal Psychology, Focusing Oriented Therapy, NeuroAffective Touch, Internal Family Systems, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, amongst other modalities. I’m an integrative somatic practitioner, which means that I weave these approaches together throughout my work, informed by best practices and what makes the most sense for each person.
The approaches I use come from my training in the areas of embodied trauma healing, developmental/complex trauma, and politicized healing. I ground my work in anti-oppressive, anti-racist, queer and trans affirming practice and am committed to continuous dialogue and learning around how I approach my work.

I will never share any identifying details about you without your permission. I will occasionally share stories on social media or in my newsletter about insights or breakthroughs that happen in client work, and I welcome you to do the same if you feel called to. I am happy for you to disclose our working relationship, and will likely repost things you share that mention our work (unless you ask me not to). If you have specific needs or concerns around confidentiality or privacy I am happy to talk about those in more detail.

OFFICE HOURS + REPLY TIMES //
I am often away from the screen so it might take me up to three business days to respond to emails. If anything is urgent please indicate in the subject line of your email and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I am not available on call or for crisis situations.
I do not use Instagram DMs or other social media platforms to communicate regarding our work together. Please email me if you need to be in touch outside our scheduled time.
RUNNING LATE / NO SHOWS //
If you’re running late for our appointment, I’ll wait to hear from you for 15 minutes after our scheduled start time. In that time, I’ll send you an email reminder. If I haven’t heard from you after 15 minutes, I’ll leave the Zoom room and you forfeit the session.

Mentorship is organic and sometimes nebulous work, and though my clients tend to experience big learning and growth, I don't make any guarantees of specific or concrete results. I am committed to offering consistent support in line with the terms of this contract.
